Very interesting and detailed museum about a Civil War ship and the battles in the area during the time. We spent nearly 2 hours going through this museum reading and enjoying what this gem had to offer! I'd highly recommend a visit, a …
Such a delightful visit here! The attendants were so warm, welcoming, and explained everything thoroughly. We started our visit by watching a brief video. It truly was an informative precursor to our self guided tour, around every corner was lots to be discovered.
We stopped here as a tourist site as we were passing through the area. I didn't think we would be here long, but the interpretive center is so well organized in setting the stage and telling the narrative we were here for a good hour and a half. It is a hidden gem and worth the stop.
Very cool exhibit. Ironclad and navies aren't generally thought of in context of the Civil War. This really put some meat on the bones.
Interesting museum, definitely worth a visit before or after the CSS Neuse replica nearby. …
This was a extremely well done museum about the CSS Neuse as well as local battles and the impact on the greater community. You can easily spend well over an hour here. Entrance fee is only $5.
Fell in love with the Civil War museum on the top floor and learning about the knowledge of the CSS Neuse and the lifestyle of Civil War soldiers broading more of the pov on the Southern soldier
History of the Civil War in the strangest places. To see the CSS Neuse iron clad ship in Kinston was a special treat for us. The Museum is laid out nicely and worth the visit.
Very well done. Have seen the CSS Neuse since I was a wee one and glad it is in a protected environment. The movie was well done.
I love history and this is a great place to go to. I never realize how big the ironclad ships until I saw the CSS Neuse.
